What YOCO Is — and Why It Exists

YOCO exists because we wanted something different — a studio rooted in integrity, community, and consistency rather than perfection. It’s a space where people can show up as they are, move honestly, and feel supported both on and off the mat.

The studio isn’t the vision of one person.
It’s the result of shared care, shared responsibility, and shared belief in yoga.

What YOCO Is to Me

For me personally, YOCO is home — but it’s also a responsibility I share with my Partners.

As a Pittsburgh native, longtime student, teacher, and one of the Partners of YOCO Yoga Collective, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful a thoughtfully run yoga space can be. I’m proud to help steward this studio alongside Partners who are just as committed to protecting its values, its people, and its future.

We each bring different strengths to the table — teaching, operations, leadership, creative direction, and community care — and together, we keep YOCO grounded, welcoming, and sustainable.

Collective Leadership at YOCO

YOCO is led by a collective of Partners who are also teachers, all actively involved in the day-to-day care of the studio.

That means:

  • Shared leadership and accountability
  • Collaborative decision-making
  • Teachers/leadership who are deeply invested in the community
  • A studio shaped by real people, not a corporate model

No single person “runs” YOCO alone — we all show up, handle it together, and support one another so the studio can continue to support our community.

My Role & Teaching Style

Within the collective, my focus includes teaching, brand direction, and marketing, while staying closely connected to the studio floor and our students.

My classes are strong, intentional, and grounded, with an emphasis on:

  • Clear, accessible sequencing
  • Options and modifications offered throughout
  • A balance of strength, mobility, and breath
  • Music that supports the experience without overpowering it
  • Creating an environment where beginners and experienced students feel equally welcome

I believe yoga should meet you where you are — and my goal is always to create space for both effort and ease.
